to #breakfreefromplastic! This month we're challenging ourselves to use less plastic ♳. Karen’s goals are to use glass jars for bulk purchases, to bring her own reusable produce bags and coffee mug while out shopping, and to pack lunch in a metal food container. Stephanie will try to bring her own bags to the farmers market and only use her refillable water bottle. How will you limit plastic usage?
Here are our favorites that should work for everything from a simple sandwich, to a huge salad, hot soup, snacks, fruit, and leftovers. Getting the right containers makes packing lunch so much easier. This week the challenge is to pack a plastic-free lunch. Packing a plastic-free lunch is healthier, even if it’s some leftover cheesy pizza, cause you are avoiding all sorts of extra packaging materials that can leave yucky chemicals in your food. Plus, those piles of plastic takeout containers overflowing out of the recycling bin everyday after lunch are kind of sad, right? Don’t forget to tag your photos with @because_health and #BHchallenge.
We say that's more than enough reasons to bring and use a glass or stainless steel water bottle everywhere you go. And if photos like this really bug you, check out our friends @surfrider to find a beach cleanup near you. 🌊 📸 @mo_9o .
Leave your (empty! ) reusable plastic water bottle in your car as a backup bottle. If you are running errands and get thirsty, filling up the reusable plastic bottle is still way better than buying a bottled water at a corner store. Click on the link in bio to read more tips on how to safely use the plastic water bottles you already own. 👋Don't forget to post photos of your reusable water bottle and tag @becausehealth and #BHchallenge. We're reposting in our stories and will pick a winner at the end of the month for a prize.
All of our favorite glass and stainless steel water bottles, in case you need to pick up a new one for the Week 1 #BHchallenge. Getting a water bottle that you really like, might motivate you to drink more water! Crush those hydration goals!
We’re starting off simple. Bring and use your reusable glass or stainless steel water bottle. Let’s ditch the plastic and make sure that your water is as healthy as can be for you and the planet. Plastic water bottles can leach unwanted chemicals into the water inside and yeah, we’ve seen enough depressing videos about single-use bottles polluting our oceans, so let's do this! We know it's hard to remember sometimes, so this is your extra motivation. Show us where you are taking or refilling your water bottles this week and remember to tag @because_health and #BHchallenge .
This one is perfect for gift giving because we're giving you two @elloproducts mugs, two @chicobag reusable bags, two sets of @togoware bamboo utensils and a set of @abeego wraps. Why two? Duh, one for you, and one as a gift for your friend! You are going to need gifts coming up and we figured we'd help you out with at least one person on your list. To enter 1. Like this post on the @because_health profile 2. Follow @because_health 3. Follow all the brands who donated @elloproducts, @chicobag, @togoware, and @abeego 4. Tag a friend who would love this prize (or to be your double set winner). Additional entries for each tag, so go crazy! Contest ends Friday at noon Pacific time. The winner will be announced later that day. Must be in the US to win. Instagram is in no way responsible for this giveaway.
