Here are our two favorite DIY options in a 16oz spray bottle. The first is pretty much just vinegar and water. It's super effective and if the vinegar smell bugs you (we swear it goes away as soon as it dries), just add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil. We love peppermint! Or you can soak the vinegar with some lemon peels for a week or two and get that amazing clean citrus scent. Ahhh...🍋 We also keep a bottle of the liquid soap cleaner on hand for marble counters (no vinegar on sensitive surfaces) and to spot clean small couch and rug stains. Pssst! We've heard that some kombucha bottles and apple cider vinegar bottles will fit an old spray top, so look around your kitchen for some free supplies!
But do we really know if that's a good thing? Well, we dug into the research to answer just that question. Bottom line, if you use them safely and as directed, they are better than traditional fragrance chemicals. That doesn't mean they can't have negative effects. Read our article for suggestions on how to use them thoughtfully.
