Flame retardants. These chemicals are in a ton of consumer products, but they’re not so good for your health. Flame retardant chemicals can easily move from a product onto our skin. ⁣ A recent scientific study has shown that increased household cleaning 🧹or hand washing 🧼(or both! ) can reduce your exposure to flame retardants by half. But even if it’s #oneofthosedays and no one has left the house, kids should definitely wash their hands before eating. Chemicals like flame retardants and lead can be found in household dust. Kids that crawl/play on the floor and eat with their hands can have more dust exposure than adults. There are a ton of chemicals we come into contact with throughout the day in places you’d least expect it (like laptops). One simple tip to reduce your exposure to chemicals: wash your hands more! We recommend washing your hands before eating or snacking, after your commute to work/home, and after you go to the gym. Although shouldn’t you be doing this anyway? 🧐⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ ⁣ ⁣
