This week the challenge is to pack a plastic-free lunch. Packing a plastic-free lunch is healthier, even if it’s some leftover cheesy pizza, cause you are avoiding all sorts of extra packaging materials that can leave yucky chemicals in your food. Plus, those piles of plastic takeout containers overflowing out of the recycling bin everyday after lunch are kind of sad, right? Don’t forget to tag your photos with @because_health and #BHchallenge.

We say that's more than enough reasons to bring and use a glass or stainless steel water bottle everywhere you go. And if photos like this really bug you, check out our friends @surfrider to find a beach cleanup near you. 🌊 📸 @mo_9o .
Leave your (empty! ) reusable plastic water bottle in your car as a backup bottle. If you are running errands and get thirsty, filling up the reusable plastic bottle is still way better than buying a bottled water at a corner store. Click on the link in bio to read more tips on how to safely use the plastic water bottles you already own. 👋Don't forget to post photos of your reusable water bottle and tag @becausehealth and #BHchallenge. We're reposting in our stories and will pick a winner at the end of the month for a prize.
We’re starting off simple. Bring and use your reusable glass or stainless steel water bottle. Let’s ditch the plastic and make sure that your water is as healthy as can be for you and the planet. Plastic water bottles can leach unwanted chemicals into the water inside and yeah, we’ve seen enough depressing videos about single-use bottles polluting our oceans, so let's do this! We know it's hard to remember sometimes, so this is your extra motivation. Show us where you are taking or refilling your water bottles this week and remember to tag @because_health and #BHchallenge .
Do you flush them down the toilet or drain? If you do, we have a quick and easy habit shift for you that can make a huge difference in terms of creating less plastic pollution, which we know is good for oceans, sea creatures, and humans. Recycle your contacts! Yep, the lens itself plus all the packaging that goes with it. @terracycle teamed up with @bauschlomb to accept contact recycling for all brands - how cool is that? We have more info on this on the site.
But that's not the only reason we try to avoid plastic. They also end up in water ways and start breaking down into tinier plastic pieces, which fish and other animals think look like food. That means that plastic is also affecting sea creatures, and can affect the seafood we choose to eat. When you can, try to avoid plastic and always make sure you are disposing of it properly. Also, look for sustainable seafood sources. 📷 : @natgeo .
