At least once this week, try cooking in something besides a nonstick pan. Once you figure out the tricks, you’ll learn to love your #castiron, #carbonsteel, and #stainlesssteel pans as much as we do. Plus, they will last literally forever if you take care of them, unlike traditional nonstick pans. So, whether it’s your eggs in the morning, your grilled cheese for lunch, your pizza for dinner, or even some dessert, give alternatives to nonstick a chance. Click through the link in bio for our tips and tricks for cooking without toxic non-stick coatings. This week the challenge is to pack a plastic-free lunch. Packing a plastic-free lunch is healthier, even if it’s some leftover cheesy pizza, cause you are avoiding all sorts of extra packaging materials that can leave yucky chemicals in your food. Plus, those piles of plastic takeout containers overflowing out of the recycling bin everyday after lunch are kind of sad, right? Don’t forget to tag your photos with @because_health and #BHchallenge.

We recommend skipping the #nonstick pans and instead using ones that are made of #castiron, #carbonsteel, or #stainlesssteel. All of those can achieve a similarly non-stick surface without any of the chemicals used to make other pans non-stick.
What about what you will be baking all of those treats in? While your nonstick pans might seem like a no-brainer, give us a chance to talk you into some other options. Nonstick pans are often coated in PFAS chemicals, which, while magical at times, can also be pretty bad for your health (and the 🌍.) Don't let water sit in it for weeks and don't let it bake in the sun. For more tips on safely using your beloved plastic water bottle, check out our full list of tips.

" That's pretty blunt and kind of scary. Especially when you keep reading and find out it's because sperm counts are falling, fast. They lay out a lot of different reason why and most of them come back to the environment we are living in today. While that sounds even worse, based on some research we've done, we know that small changes to your routine (both in men themselves and women who might have sons at some point) can help make a change for the better. Two easy changes: 1. Switch from plastic food storage containers and water bottles to ones made of glass, stainless steel, or ceramic. Clean your home more often by dusting with a microfiber cloth and vacuuming. Both are pretty easy and can reduce the amount of contact you have with chemicals that mess with hormone levels. Sperm levels may be on a downward trend, but the trend doesn't have to keep going down. Little changes can have a big impact on health. Thank you, GQ, for bringing this topic to a bigger audience.
